Hi everyone! Well, it is that time of year again. Membership renewal time! Your renewal form is accompanying this newslet- ter. Assessment allocations will remain the same for this upcoming year. $30 will go to our capital fund, $15 will go to our game program and $15 will go to the purchase of fish for our stocking program.
Remember, dues must be received by the club no later than October 1st or you will be dropped from the club roster. This will be your only notice so please renew right away so you don’t forget. “My wife forgot to send it in” is not an excuse. If you are paying with cash we have a new drop box behind the bar so please leave your renewal with the bartender on duty and ask him or her to place it in the drop box.
There still seems to be some confusion regarding Life Member renewals. How it was done 10 years ago doesn’t matter today. We need senior members to return their renewal cards also. This is how we keep the database current and how we get you your newsletter. If the card doesn’t come back, your name doesn’t stay in the database so please return it. A small donation from the seniors helps greatly as well so please send in what you can.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but our membership numbers keep dropping every year. At one time we had 3,800 members and a waiting list. We are now down below 2,000 and of those members roughly 15% are non-paying, senior members. Unfortunately, kids aren’t interested in our sports like they were in the past. This means big problems in the coming years for our club, our community and our sports. Every one of our members must know someone who has at least a moderate interest in the shooting sports. It doesn’t take much to kindle that interest and promote our club. If everyone brought in one new member our numbers would be strong again and we wouldn’t have to look at alternative methods to increase the clubs revenue.
Our annual field day and barbecue tickets are on sale now at the bar. After the success of last year’s event lamb is back on the menu again. The cost is $30 per ticket. There will still be a great accompanying menu. If you haven’t attended our annual Field Day BBQ in the past you don’t know what you’re missing. This event has great food, great company and lots of fun. Don’t wait till the last minute to purchase your ticket as we sell out for this event every year. As always, if there is anything I can help you with please let me know.
That’s it for now. As always, the door is always open and if you have any questions or concerns please let me know. See you on the hill!
