The Wounded Warriors visited Bristol Fish & Game last weekend for our second annual “Wounded Warrior Trap Shoot.” Despite the rainy conditions, they were able to enjoy several rounds of trap with their guests.
The Warriors were welcomed by a large group of volunteers, given a safety briefing and then headed out to the line where they were helped by experienced shooters. The Bristol Fish & Game Club generously provided food for all, and those who were brave enough to face the rain went back out for more shooting after lunch.
We would like to thank all of our volunteers and donors who made this day possible. Donations included several flats of ammo, eye and ear protection, vests, pouches, guns, food, and of course time. Those who donated included the following individuals:
- Safari Club International
- Northwest Sporting Goods & Supply
- Eric Nelso
- Bill McCormick
- Dennis Jones
- Jon Eisenhandson
- Danny Gaudiosi
- Tom Napiello
- The Buchas Family
- Marty Matlega
- Tom Nicoletti, Chef Gary Z., and the kitchen staff
(** If you donated but are not listed, please send an email to email@example.com and you will be added.)
Our volunteers also held umbrellas over the Warriors, pulled targets, prepped equipment, ran ammo and gave instruction. All cash donations were converted into Stop & Shop or gas gift cards and then given to the Warriors. Although we managed to shoot several rounds of trap, there were still a few flats of ammo left over, which will be used for next year’s Wounded Warrior event.
Thanks again to all those who donated. It was a fantastic event and we’re looking forward to hosting it again next year.
